He expresses his gratitude to those who helped him after his treatment for a brain tumour

The CharlatansJon Brookes has thanked fans for their support following his treatment for a brain tumour.

In a blog on the band’s official website,, the drummer gave “heartfelt thanks” to everyone who has helped him following his collapse onstage in Philadelphia last month.

“I will never be able to express my heartfelt thanks for all the love and light I received,” Brookes wrote. “From all of you who text me, sent me cards, made calls to me or passed on their support and best wishes that ultimately brought me back home, safe!”

Earlier in the blog, the sticksman also gave a detailed account of his collapse onstage and subsequent hospital treatment.

Last week frontman Tim Burgess revealed that Brookes could be back playing with the band within six weeks.

Former Verve drummer Pete Salisbury is currently filling in for Brookes while he is out of action.
