'For All My Sisters' will be released on March 23
The Cribs have announced that their next album will be named ‘For All My Sisters’ and will be released on March 23.
The band of Wakefield brothers have also released a brand new track, ‘An Ivory Hand’, to mark the news. Click below to listen.
‘For All My Sisters’ is the group’s sixth album and first for new label Sonic Blew/Sony Red. It follows 2012’s ‘In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull’ and the 2013 compilation ‘Payola’.
Speaking to NME last year, singer/bassist Gary Jarman described the sound of the album as “influenced by all the stuff we’ve been listening to – The Replacements and ’80s pop basically.” Recorded in New York, it sees the band working with producer Ric Ocasek, best known as frontman of US new wave group The Cars. Singer/guitarist Ryan Jarman said Ocasek “doesn’t do records like a gun for hire; he chooses a band. We’ve been trying to get him since the third record, now he thinks we’re definitely good enough.”
The album will be released on double vinyl LP, CD, deluxe CD/DVD – featuring live footage from the band’s two Christmas 2013 shows at Leeds’ Town & Country Club – and digitally. Digital pre-orders will receive the track ‘An Ivory Hand’ now.
The first single, ‘Burning For No One’, will be released alongside the album on March 23 and will be available as a limited 7” and digital download.
