The Cribs’ Ryan Jarman launches appeal to find guitar ‘stolen by roommate’

Singer is offering a reward for its return

The Cribs and Exclamation Pony frontman Ryan Jarman has launched an appeal to find his missing guitar.

Jarman’s sunburst Gibson 335, which he uses extensively on stage, was stolen in New York by Jarman’s former roommate, according to a post on The Cribs’ Facebook page.

The post reads: “Ryan’s sunburst Gibson 335, a guitar he has toured with extensively for the last few years, has been stolen in New York by his former roommate. It was stolen in the Williamsburg, Brooklyn area and has already been sold, however it’s whereabouts are unknown. Please, please could you keep an eye out for it, it could be in any pawn shop/music store in the area and may be in a very distinctive Gibson hardcase with ‘The Cribs’ sprayed on it in red. The serial number is: 81051048. It has a black pickguard that had some stickers on it… however these may have been removed. Any person giving ANY information leading to it’s return would receive our eternal gratitude and some other kind of reward as the guitar has a lot of sentimental value and we are gutted that it has been stolen. Please help!”

The picture shows the guitar’s scratchplate has three stickers spelling out the name Jen. Jen Turner is Jarman’s Exclamation Pony bandmate. Though Jarman comes from Wakefield, his new band are based in New York.
