The Brit rock heavyweights go head to head in the charts today…

Two of the most controversial singles of the year go head to head in the UK singles chart today (August 15).

Babyshambles’ ’Fuck Forever’ will be vying in the charts with the solo project of The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins.

Hawkins is releasing a cover of Sparks’ ’This Town Ain’t Big Enough For The Both Of Us’ under the guise of British Whale.

Both songs have had a less than harmonious beginnings.

As reported on NME.COM, Babyshambles are recovering from weeks of crisis during which it was rumoured Pete Doherty sacked his bandmates, while the single and the band’s summer tour were initially postponed. The tour is yet to be rescheduled.

Hawkins, meanwhile, was involved in a shouting match with Frankie Poullain while he was preparing British Whale, after the bassist was sacked from The Darkness.

Both singles are expected to chart highly, but who do you think will win this unlikely battle of the bands, Babyshambles or British Whale?

NME.COM wants to know what you think of each single, and who will eventually triumph.

Send your opinions to with Baby Whale in the subject line. Let battle commence.
