The Darkness unveil new track ‘Hammer & Tongs’ – listen

Song will appear on forthcoming LP 'Last of Our Kind'

The Darkness have revealed new track ‘Hammer & Tongs’, the latest to be taken from their upcoming fourth album ‘Last of Our Kind’. Click above to listen.

The song features Emily Dolan-Davies, who replaced founding member Ed Graham for the recording of this new LP. However, the drummer last month quit the group and has since been replaced by Rufus Taylor, the son of Queen’s Roger Taylor. Speaking to Kerrang! recently, frontman Justin Hawkins claimed the band had been too “demanding” for Dolan-Davies.

“We love Emily. She’s a great drummer and a nice person, but it broke down because she couldn’t be available for everything we needed. I think we’re quite a demanding band to be in,” he said.

Hawkins was, however, full of praise for new member Taylor. “It felt like a revelation,” he said of the drummer’s arrival into the band. “We had a lot of mutual friends, and as it would turn out, Brian May’s guitar tech put him forward for the gig. There’s something really special about his drumming. So, yeah, we want to work with him for as long as we can. This is The Darkness, though, so things can change in a heartbeat.”

The Darkness recently announced details of a full UK tour for later in 2015.
