Dead Weather’s Jack White, Alison Mosshart perform with Led Zeppelin man – video

Trio joined Seasick Steve during his headline set at iTunes Festival in London

The Dead Weather duo Jack White and Alison Mosshart were joined onstage by Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones for an all-star collaboration in London last night (July 2).

The trio played as special guests of Seasick Steve – real name Steve Wold – during his headlining slot at the iTunes Festival at Camden‘s Roundhouse. Scroll down and click below to see a video of the performance.

The foursome performed a version of the blues singer’s track ‘Write Me A Few Of Your Lines’, with White playing drums and Mosshart sitting down to sing.

The bluesman heralded White as his “favourite musician in the world right now” as the former White Stripes man walked onstage to rapturous applause.

White released Seasick Steve‘s latest album ‘You Can’t Teach An Old Dog New Tricks’ on his label Third Man Records earlier this year, something Wold referenced before the quartet performed the track.

“I got to go out to Nashville, Jack invited me out there, and he decided to record this little tune. He got me drunk,” he told the crowd.

Meanwhile, Mosshart – who acted as Kills bandmate Jamie Hince’s ‘best man’ at his wedding to Kate Moss on Friday (July 2) – was introduced by Wold as “one of my most favourite singers right now”.

It’s also not the first time the bluesman has been joined onstage by John Paul Jones – the bassist also played with him during his set at the Isle Of Wight Festival last month.
