The Decemberists, The Thermals and Viva Voce for covers album

They help out their hometown with compilation

The Decemberists, The Thermals and Viva Voce are among the artists to feature on a charity covers album to be released next month.

‘Bridging the Distance: A Portland, OR Covers Compilation’ also features tracks from Death Cab For Cutie’s Christopher Walla and The Dandy Warhols and will benefit ‘p:ear’, a mentoring programme for homeless and transitional youths specialising in helping to bridge financial and class distances.

The 19-track album includes covers of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘ ‘Think About Me’, Led Zeppelin‘s ‘Tangerine’ and The Cult‘s ‘She Sells Sanctuary’.
