Speaking to Billboard, Drozd calls the group a “fantastical prog-rock kind of a jam band, Miles Davis, electric, crazy music ensemble thing”. Coyne adds: “I think Steven and I often longed for this side of the Flaming Lips that didn’t always have to be Wayne’s singing and a reflection of Wayne’s world and all that. This is not full of Wayne-isms or anything like that. It’s a whole other part of the Lips universe.”
A press release for the band reads: “They are not a super-group. They are like Sherpas climbing with you. To help you. To love you. They have a message of hope and peace and chaos and violence. All the secrets that they know they tell you. That’s what love is.” The band will play the End of the Road Festival in Larmer Tree Gardens at the end of this month and London’s Village Underground on September 1.
The ‘Musik, Die Schwer Zu Twerk’ tracklisting is:
‘I Could Only See Clouds’
‘Heart Of The Sunrise’
