FLAMING LIPS GET THEIR ‘KNIVES OUT’!

Flaming Lips have covered RADIOHEAD on their new single.

The seven-song US-only ‘Fight Test EP’ contains a radio show version of ‘Knives Out’ from Radiohead‘s 2001 ‘Amnesiac’ LP. The song has been played live on several occasions by the band while touring current LP ‘Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots’.

According to Rolling Stone, the package, released on April 22, also features the band’s cover of Kylie Minogue‘s ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’, the band backing Beck on a version of his song ‘The Golden Age’, The Scott Hardkiss Floating in Space vocal mix of ‘Do You Realize??’, and two new songs, ‘The Strange Design of Conscience’ and

‘Thank You Jack White (for the Fiber-Optic Jesus That You Gave Me)’.

A spokesperson for [/a] could not confirm the band would be releasing the Radioheadcover in the UK, but revealed that ‘Fight Test’ is scheduled to be the band’s next single in the UK, with a May release mooted.

A non-musical addition to the EP will be the theatrical trailer to ‘Christmas on Mars’, the [a] in-progress science-fiction feature film. The band have shot about 35 minutes of the film in their native Oklahoma City, and estimate the project is one-third complete. No release date has yet been set.
