The Flaming Lips share video for cover of David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’

Bowie listed The Flaming Lips in 2012 as one of a number of American bands that he admires

The Flaming Lips have unveiled a video for their cover of David Bowie classic ‘Space Oddity’.

Following the music icon’s death in January, the Oklahoma band played a whole set dedicated to Bowie.

Flaming Lips also played at a tribute concert dedicated to Bowie earlier this mont (April) in New York.

Now they have unveiled a typically outlandish video for their take on ‘Space Oddity’. Watch below.

In a 2012 interview, Bowie listed The Flaming Lips as one of a number of American bands that he admires.

The Flaming Lips are set to headline Wilderness Festival 2016, which runs August 4-7 in Oxfordshire, alongside Robert Plant and more.

Meanwhile, David Bowie’s final album ‘Blackstar’ has been revealed as the highest-selling vinyl record of the past year.
