Singer's oversized prop was pinched at Southbound Festival
The frontman sports the giant prop during the band’s live shows so he can shoot lasers at the crowd, but they were seemingly pinched following their headline set at the Australian bash in Sir Stewart Bovell Park, Busselton last night.
The band took to Twitter to post an appeal for information regarding the missing hands, which you can read below:
Organisers of Southbound Festival have also joined the band in their hunt for the prop, and have now offered four VIP tickets to next year’s event to anyone who can return them. Writing on their Facebook page, they said: “Please help us and The Flaming Lips out – someone stole their amazing giant laser hands and both we and the Lips desperately want them back.
“We’re offering 4 x VIP tickets to Southbound 2014 to the person who gives them back. And any info would be incredibly welcomed!!,” they aded. “We’ve heard whispers from the campsite, so someone knows about it!”
Southbound Festival is set to conclude this evening, and will feature final-day performances from Two Door Cinema Club and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.
The Flaming Lips, meanwhile, are set to play two shows at London’s Roundhouse in May of this year, with the band playing the Camden venue on May 20 and 21. To check the availability of The Flaming Lips tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
