Mass brawl breaks out during Killers tribute band performance

Police are called after Fakestival ends in 30-person fight

A mass brawl broke out at last weekend’s Fakestival event in Mayport, Cumbria, during a set by The Killers tribute band Killerz on Sunday (May 29).

Three people were arrested, reports the Cumbria News And Star. Twenty police officers arrived to break up the fracas.

Two men, aged 26 and 28, were arrested on suspicion of assault and another 26-year-old man was arrested for a public order offence.

A police spokesperson said of the incident: “It was a large-scale incident. Officers arrested three men; two on suspicion of common assault and one on suspicion of a public order offence. Three males suffered cuts to the face and one was kicked in the head.”

Despite the brawl, the event continued and saw further performances from Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Arctic Monkeys tribute acts.
