Fans can hear 'Crossfire' on his official website

Brandon Flowers is set to stream the first single from his forthcoming solo album ‘Flamingo’ online tonight (June 14).

The Killers frontman will give fans the chance to hear the track ‘Crossfire’ on his official site after the single is showcased on Radio 1‘s Zane Lowe show later this evening.

Flowers has been teasing fans visiting his website brandonflowersmusic.com with different instrumental parts of the track over the past few days, but has now confirmed the single, which is set for release in September, will be available to listen to in full.

Speaking to NME, Flowers revealed that some of the songs on the record were originally intended for the next Killers album, but, with other members of the band keen to take a break after extensive touring of their 2008 album, ‘Day & Age’, Flowers decided to go it alone this time.

“I would prefer if this was a Killers record, although it would obviously be very different if I’d made it with the rest of the band,” he explained. “We’re just at different places in our lives right now. It’s no secret that they’re ready to put the brakes on for a second. It’s definitely not the end of The Killers, but you can’t blame the others —we’ve been going non-stop since 2003.”
