Band admit 'people may laugh at 'Day And Age''
The Killers have revealed that their forthcoming third album ‘Day And Age’ features saxophone solos that may cause people to mock the band.
However, frontman Brandon Flowers told the Rolling Stone that he doesn’t care if the Las Vegas band’s efforts induce mirth.
“Some people laugh at sax solos, but we just said, ‘Fuck it!’,” he said.
Flowers went on to draw an analogy between the new album, out November 24, and the band’s last record, 2006’s ‘Sam’s Town’.
“This album is like looking at ‘Sam’s Town’ from Mars,” he declared.
Flowers added: “I have a romantic notion of what America, the Wild West and Nevada embodies, and I’m trying to hold on to that [through the album].”
Before the release of ‘Day And Age’, The Killers will play the London Royal Albert Hall on November 3.
It’s also been revealed that The Killers and Elton John are teaming up to release a Christmas single, ‘Joseph, Better Than You And Me’, in December.
