The Killers play surprise gig in London

Band preview five new songs at Royal Albert Hall warm-up

The Killers previewed five songs from their new album tonight (November 2) at a secret fans-only gig in London.

The Vegas four-piece only announced the intimate last minute show at Bush Hall on their website on Friday night (October 31).

The gig, the smallest concert the band have played in the city, was a warm-up for their comeback show at the Royal Albert Hall tomorrow (November 3).

Kicking off with forthcoming single ‘Human’, The Killers were greeted with huge cheers by the select few who managed to get their hands on tickets.

Lead singer Brandon Flowers, who arrived onstage dressed in a black jacket with fur shoulder pads, then strapped on a bass guitar as the band rolled into ‘For Reasons Unknown’.

Flowers thanked the crowd for “turning up at such short notice” as The Killers launched into the ‘Hot Fuss’ single ‘Smile Like You Mean It’.

During the set, the band played a further four new songs from their forthcoming album ‘Day And Age’, two of which [‘Losing Touch’ and ‘Joyride’] saw the band backed by a saxophonist.

The Vegas four-piece also performed ‘Spaceman’, debuted at the Reading And Leeds Festivals during the summer, and ‘Neon Tiger’.

Before the band launched into their cover of Joy Division‘s ‘Shadowplay’, a humbled Flowers told the crowd: “I guess you know I am not very good between the songs. Hopefully the songs will get us through the night.”

Typically, the crowd belted out every word to the likes of ‘Somebody Told Me’, ‘Mr Brightside’ and ‘All These Things That I’ve Done’.
