The band help legendary club celebrate birthday

The Killers are set to make their live return this week with a series of low key gigs.

They play a ‘secret’ free hometown show at Las VegasCelebrity club, with wristbands available from the city’s Tower Records on Sahara Avenue tonight (August 23).

The band then head to south to San Francisco to help influential clubnight Popscene celebrate its tenth birthday on August 24.

The night was one of America’s first ever Britpop/indie nights and was the scene of The Killers‘ first ever San Francisco show in June 2004.

Tickets for the night completely sold out even before it was revealed the Las Vegas band would be previewing forthcoming album ’Sam’s Town’.

Doors will re open at 12pm after The Killers‘ set for the night’s indie disco.

It’s not Popscene’s first brush with big bands, with the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party and Arctic Monkeys having previously played the night, while Franz Ferdinand, Johnny Marr, and The Rapture are among those who have previously DJed.
