The Killers halt Colorado show after two songs

Brandon Flowers suffers throat injury

The Killers were forced to halt their show last night (May 17) at Colorado‘s Red Rocks Amphitheatre after frontman Brandon Flowers suffered a throat injury.

The band had performed only two songs when Flowers exited the stage, causing much confusion among audience members.

About 20 minutes later, an announcement over the PA system revealed that Flowers was being examined by a doctor.

Soon afterwards, drummer Ronnie Vannucci apologised to fans and said the show would need to be rescheduled, reports Spin. A doctor then explained that Flowers had an “aggravated vocal cord” and continuing the concert “could be detrimental to his musical career”.

A statement on the band’s website says that Flowers is recovering, and the Colorado show has been rescheduled for September 4. All tickets from last night’s show will be valid.
