Pritchard refuses to share fans with the 'X Factor' boyband

Liam Payne of One Direction has responded to criticisms of his group’s music from Luke Pritchard of The Kooks.

The row began when a Twitter user told Pritchard she was a fan of both groups, reports Digital Spy. Pritchard responded saying he didn’t want One Direction fans following him.

“Do not like what I do,” he told the fan in a now-deleted tweet. “I’d rather anyone who likes One Direction never follow me. You literally have no idea how upset I am.”

One Direction member Liam Payne then took to Twitter to condemn Pritchard’s words, adding that One Direction were fans of The Kooks.

Facing a barrage of abuse from One Direction fans, Pritchard initially retweeted some of the comments, but later deleted the whole lot. Among the deleted tweets were a conversation with a fan in which he asked, “How can you be a fan of something that has no life. I honestly feel so depressed that you are into The Kooks.”

At 8.15 last night (November 27), he concluded with the following message.

The Kooks released their last album, ‘Junk Of The Heart’ in 2011, reaching Number 10 in the charts. The album’s lead single, ‘Is It Me’, peaked at Number 160.
