The duo were spotted playing 'The Domestic' in Barcelona
Footage of Pete Doherty and Carl Barat practising an old Libertines song in Spain has emerged.
Click above to watch the phone-shot footage, which sees the reunited pair sat outdoors at night in Barcelona, singing early track ‘The Domestic’, which was written before the band signed to Rough Trade. Speaking to NME recently about The Libertines forthcoming gig in Hyde Park, Doherty said he was thinking about finishing off some of their older material. “We were talking about doing some new songs,” he explained. “Or even better, finishing some old songs that we always knew should have been on ‘Up The Bracket’ if we could have been arsed. I could hum them and Carl would know about them.”
Meanwhile, Graham Coxon has been added to the line-up for The Libertines reunion show at this year’s British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park. Coxon joins The Libertines on the July 5 bill following the news last month that the band will reunite for a live show at the festival – marking their first live performance since appearing at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2010.
Elsewhere on the bill are Spiritualized, The Pogues and Maximo Park with the likes of Wolf Alice, Swim Deep, Darlia, Reverend & The Makers, I Am Kloot, The View, The Twang and The Rifles also performing.
Other confirmed headliners for the British Summer Time festival this year are McBusted (July 6), Neil Young and Crazy Horse (July 12), Tom Jones and Black Sabbath.
