Libertines Pete and Carl reunite for Beatles recording

The pair team-up for 'Sgt Pepper' cover

Pete Doherty and Carl Barat are recording again today (June 15).

The Libertines pair are in the studio working on a cover of The Beatles’A Day In The Life’ for Radio 2’s projected re-recording of the whole of the classic album ’Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’.

The pair are currently working on the track this afternoon in a west London studio.

It’s the first time the pair have recorded together since April 2004.

The radio station has gathered a whole host of artists to record the album, which was relased 40 years ago this month.

Other bands who have taken part include Oasis, The Kaiser Chiefs and Razorlight.

The results of the pair’s collaboration will be broadcast on Radio 2 tomorrow night (June 16) at 8pm.

Meanwhile Doherty‘s track ‘For Lovers’ is being used on a Dior Homme advert which can be viewed below.
