PETE DOHERTY is making a fresh attempt to beat his drug addictions.
Following his recent court appearance (September 1), which saw him landed with a four month suspended sentence after he pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon, the estranged Libertines guitarist says he has gone to stay with his parents.
In a posting on his website babyshambles.com, Pete said: “I’ve come out to my mum and dad’s to get clean, and I’ve just had a bath so I’m halfway there. I’m bearing up very well, mostly in the mind you know…”
He added: “I can’t really talk now but lots of love and wish me luck. Peter.”
As previously reported on NME.COM, Libertines have kicked Pete out of the band until he kicks his habit.
Meanwhile, Libertines will release ‘What Became Of The Likely Lads’ on October 24 as the second track to be lifted from their second self-titled album.
