Comedian says he's got the 'urge' to write a new track

Frank Skinner has hinted that he may hook up with The Lightning Seeds and former comedy partner David Baddiel to write a new World Cup song.

The team previously wrote the official England Euro 96 song, ‘Three Lions’, with Skinner now telling BBC Radio 5 Live at the Loaded Lafta Awards in London that he had the “urge” to get involved again.

“I think I might have a go at writing a new one with the other guys,” he said, explaining that he had “suddenly got the urge” to write a new football song.

‘Three Lions’ was Number One in the UK charts both in 1996 and then in 1998, when it was re-recorded for the FIFA World Cup. The Football Association have announced that there will be no official England World Cup song this year.
