Band speak to NME Radio ahead of new session

The Maccabees have said that they think they’ve subliminally gone hip-hop on their forthcoming new album, ‘Wall Of Arms’.

Band members Orlando Weeks and Felix White were speaking to Iain Baker on NME Radio ahead of a newly-recorded session set to broadcast on the station tomorrow (April 23) at 4pm (BST).

Felix has been on a hip-hop kick for the past year-and-a-half,” explained Weeks, adding, “I don’t know if you can hear that.”

White added: “Someone said that about [album track] ‘Love You Better’ the other day, that it has that kind of beat like that – I don’t know if it’s a complete happy accident or not.”

However, the pair suggested that they weren’t ready to go completely Wu-Tang Clan just yet.

“I will do anything in my power to make sure Orlando doesn’t rap over any Maccabees material!” joked White.

Listen to the band’s session on NME Radio tomorrow at 4pm.
