Band to play the Scottish New Years' Eve extravaganza
The Maccabees will headline the Waverley stage this years’ Hogmanay in Edinburgh.
The band are top of the bill in the Scottish New Years’ Eve extravaganza, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this December 31. They will play the Waverley Stage on Waverley Bridge, and will see support from Reverend and the Makers and Scottish band The OK Social Club.
The band’s Felix White and Orlando Weeks said: “We’re touring right up until the end of the year and then we’re just gonna write another record. We’ve got a studio in London.”
They added: “We’re gonna try and calm things down touring-wise and we’re gonna try and get a record done by the end of next year.”
The Maccabees will play a special show at London St-John-at-Hackney Church on November 23, before supporting The Black Keys on their European tour throughout December, finishing up with two shows at London’s O2 Arena (December 12-13).
