Five extra songs set for album reissue
‘Empty Vessels’, the Roots-featuring re-working of their song ‘No Kind Words’, will be one of five extra songs added to the reissued album, which is out on February 1.
Also included will be the band’s cover of Roy Orbison‘s ‘I Drove All Night’ plus three B-sides: ‘Sleep Tonight’, ‘Accordion Song’ and ‘Hearts That Strangle’.
‘Empty Vessels’ is available to download now and will be released on February 1 on 12-inch vinyl. Roots Manuva told NME.COM that he had to defy the wishes of his record label, Big Dada, to go ahead with the collaboration.
“The record label didn’t like it,” he explained. “But there’s a line that goes, ‘Dear friend of mine, lost his religion‘. I made that the chorus and added two verses of rap. It started off as a remix clash thing. It’s supposed to be a lawless thing.”
