Mighty Boosh’s Doctor And The Pencil set for more gigs

Noel Fielding and Dave Brown to take to decks again

The Mighty Boosh spin-off DJ project The Doctor And The Pencil are set to play more sets, a bizarre note from the pair sent to NME.COM has suggested.

Comedians Noel Fielding and Dave Brown DJed at the Macmillan’s Brick Lane Takeover in London on August 13 under their new guises (Fielding as The Doctor and Brown as The Pencil).

It has since been revealed that they are open to new bookings, and they have sent a note marked as from “Dr Hedgebracket, Head Of Therapy at the Sunnyvale Institution For The Criminally Insane” suggesting they were pleased with how their performance, which saw them spin tunes by acts including Iggy Pop and Jet, went.

“I have seen a marked improvement in the behaviour of patients T Doctor and T Pencil following a course of charity DJ work they undertook,” the note read. “I’ve never seen The Pencil looking so sharp and The Doctor has only screamed ‘MAKE THE CALL!’ 487 times so far this week.”

See the new issue of NME, out now, for a full-page picture of The Doctor And The Pencil in action.
