Sufjan Stevens to perform live with The National at London gig

Wild Beasts will provide support at the O2 Arena next week

The National have announced a special guest for their upcoming London show.

The band will play a one-off gig at the capital’s O2 Arena next Wednesday (November 26). With Wild Beasts already providing support on the night, The National have now confirmed that singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens will play live with the band.

Making the announcement via Facebook, the band wrote: “Our pal Sufjan Stevens had so much fun sitting in with us in Spain that he’s decided to join us in London at The 02 next week! “

The band clarified: “He’s not supporting on the show, he’s sitting in on our full set!”

Speaking about what happens after the band finish touring their 2013 album ‘Trouble Will Find Me’, frontman Matt Berninger recently spoke about their next record, stating: “We’re talking about getting together, taking a little break and then getting together to try and write together in a room – which we’ve never done.”
