Last month (February), The Orwells played London’s 100 Club as part of the NME Awards Shows 2014 with Austin, Texas.

Introducing themselves by shouting “The Orwells, from Chicago, Illinois!” the band included three new songs in the set, titled ‘Bathroom Tile Blues’, ‘Gotta Get Down’ and ‘Let It Burn’ in their show. The set also included a cover of The Black Lips’ ‘Not A Problem’ and fan-favourite Orwells tracks including ‘Mallrats’. The encore saw a version of The Stooges’ ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’, while ‘Halloween All Year’ segued into a short cover of The Foundations’ ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’.

Towards the end of the set, a female fan leapt on stage and wrapped herself around Cuomo, sharing a lingering kiss with the frontman.

The Orwells will play:

Liverpool East Village Arts Club (June 2)
Edinburgh Electric Circus (3)
Nottingham Rescue Rooms (4)
London Dingwalls (5)
Manchester Gorilla (6)
