The Raconteurs pay tribute to John Peel in London

They cover the legendary DJ's favourite song

The Raconteurs honoured legendary DJ John Peel at his tribute gig tonight (October 26) – by covering his all-time favourite song ‘Teenage Kicks’.

The band finished their set with a rendition of the Undertones punk pop classic to provide a fitting end to the second John Peel tribute gig at Camden Electric Ballroom in London.

Peel, who died two years ago this week of a heart attack, was a huge fan of Raconteurs co-frontman Jack White’s other band The White Stripes, and gave them huge support on his radio show.

The set was:

‘Intimate Secretary’

‘Level’

‘5 On The 5’

‘Yellow Sun’

‘Together’

‘Store Bought Bones’

‘Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)’

‘Broken Boy Soldier’

‘Steady, As She Goes’

‘Teenage Kicks’

Other bands who played on the bill tonight included recent NME cover stars The Horrors and electronic artist Squarepusher.
