The Raconteurs perform secret show

The band play in a London record shop

The Raconteurs have played a secret gig in London tonight (March 27).

The band, who completed their first ever tour at the Astoria in the capital on March 23, performed a surprise short set in a record store.

Playing in the basement of shop Phonica – a one-time vinyl pressing plant – Jack White and Brendan Benson’s band performed six songs in front of a specially invited audience, with White introducing the band as “The Raconteurs from Nashville, Tennessee.”

The group’s set including forthcoming single ‘Steady, As She Goes’ plus ‘Level’, ‘Hands’, ‘Together’, ‘Broken Boy Soldier’ and ‘Intimate Secretary’.

With White today confirming the future of his band with Meg White, the evening also witnessed a special tribute to The White Stripes as a full orchestra performed specially re-worked versions of their songs.

The Raconteurs meanwhile, are set to release their debut album ‘Broken Boy Soldiers’ on May 15.
