Jack White‘s ‘other’ band The Raconteurs were the highlight of the third day of Spain’s Benicassim Festival (July 19).
The star, who has never performed at the bash before, proved to be a star attraction as his ‘other’ group drew a huge crowd to the Escenario Verde, the Spanish bash’s Main Stage.
As with their recent performances at Glastonbury and T In The Park, the set was drawn in the main from the group’s recently-released second album ‘Consolers Of The Lonely’, though it was their 2006 debut single ‘Steady, As She Goes’ that resulted in the biggest sing-along.
The Raconteurs played:
‘Consoler Of The Lonely’
‘You Don’t Understand Me’
‘Rich Kid Blues’
‘Steady, As She Goes’
‘Broken Boy Soldier’
‘Many Shades Of Black’
‘Salute Your Solution’
And, predictably, the punters went mad for their 2006 Number One single ‘Crazy’, topping the ‘Steady, As She Goes’ sing-along earlier.
Despite sound problems, The Ting Tings continued their domination of the summer festivals with an early evening slot in a rammed Fiberfib.com tent, with a predictably frenzied response to set closer and recent UK Number One single ‘That’s Not My Name’.
