ILLNESS FORCES SEA CHANGE FOR THE RAKES

A family illness forces the band to axe dates supporting British Sea Power...

The Rakes have been forced to pull out of two shows this week.

The rising London outfit were due to play Bristol Anson Rooms tomorrow (April 6) and Birmingham Academy the following night as support to British Sea Power.

However, the band have been forced to pull the shows after a member of the band’s family was taken ill earlier this week. More dates may be affected.

A spokesperson for the band said: “It is very unfortunate and the band are very sorry if they have let anyone down by cancelling these two shows. They hope to be up and running for the rest of the tour very soon. Anyone planning to catch The Rakes on this tour should check with the venue first.”

The Rakes, who have just signed a major deal with V2 records, are preparing to release a new single ‘Retreat’ on their current home of Moshi Moshi.
