Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood gets his own TV show

'The Ronnie Wood Show' will launch in February 2012 on Sky Arts

Rolling Stone and Faces man Ronnie Wood has landed his very own television programme.

‘The Ronnie Wood Show’ will launch on Sky Arts next February and is said to be a continuation of his award-winning Absolute Radio show, which saw him grab the Music Personality Of The Year gong at the Sony Radio Academy Awards earlier this year, as well as Specialist Programme Of The Year and Newcomer Of The Year at the Arqiva Commercial Radio awards earlier this month.

Ronnie Wood said:

I’ve had so much fun doing my radio show and had lots of success with recent awards. It’s now going to TV to give the audience the chance to see behind the scenes.

The show is expected to see Wood pull in high profile guests from the music world for interviews and general banter.

The channel has also given Radio 2 DJ Jo Whiley her own show. The Jo Whiley Show will see musicians and industry experts debating issues pertinent to the music business. The show will be followed by performances from bands in the half-hour Jo Whiley Live slot, reports The Mirror. Whiley’s show will launch in October of this year.
