Rock veterans played to over one million people in Cuba
A date has been set for release of The Rolling Stones movie ‘Havana Moon’ on CD, DVD and Blu-Ray.
The concert, which recently screened across cinemas for one night only, is the band’s official document of their historic outdoor gig in Havana earlier this year, which saw them perform to over 1.2 million fans in the Cuban capital, a place where rock concerts by foreign bands have long been prohibited.
It was directed by Paul Dugdale, who has previously made concert films for Adele and Coldplay.
‘Havana Moon’ will be officially released on November 11 on Blu-Ray and DVD and will come with two live CDs according to the band’s official website. A three LP vinyl set is also being released as is a special deluxe edition.
The band have also posted a new teaser trailer, which you can watch below.
Speaking in a statement to announce the concert film earlier this year, frontman Mick Jagger said: “The Cuba show was simply amazing. It was an incredible moment; a huge sea of people for as far as the eye could see. You could feel the buzz of the enthusiasm from the crowd and that was for me the stand-out moment.”
Guitarist Keith Richards added: “There’s the sun, the moon, the stars and the Rolling Stones. Seeing Cuba finally get the chance to rock out was special – a night to remember in Havana.”
