The Rumble Strips stop fight on Topman NME New Music Tour

Charlie Waller steps in to save the day

The Rumble StripsCharlie Waller saved the day yesterday (May 24) on the Manchester date of Topman New Music Tour.

Waller stepped in when Laura Mary Carter from Blood Red Shoes was being attacked at Bar Academy.

Speaking about the incident, Carter said: “I left the backstage area carrying a bottle of wine to go and watch Pull Tiger Tail. The next thing I knew a bouncer grabbed my neck from behind and started to drag me out of the venue…Apparently it was because the bouncer thought I was underage.”

Carter said she fell and hit her head on the stairs and cut her arm open.

She added: “Luckily Charlie from The Rumble Strips saw what was going on and jumped to my rescue by pulling the bouncer off me…I promised to make Charlie an apple pie for being such a hero.”

The tour, which additionally features The Little Ones, is still set to call at:

Nottingham Rescue Rooms (May 26)

Birmingham Academy 2 (28)

London KOKO (29)

Brighton Concorde 2 (30)

Norwich Waterfront (31)
