The Saturdays cover Katy Perry and Pink at V Festival

Girl band also say Stafford crowd are better than Chelmsford

The Saturdays covered Katy Perry‘s ‘I Kissed A Girl’ during their V Festival Stafford set this evening (August 23).

The band played a medley towards the end of their set at Weston Park‘s Arena stage. Other tracks included a short burst of Pink‘s ‘So What’.

Throughout their set, the five-piece strutted around the stage in a series of heavily choreographed moves, though they at times broke from their routines to bat blow-up balls thrown by the crowd back into the audience.

Backed by a live band, the girl group showcased an eight-song set for the Arena tent audience.

Their recent Comic Relief single, a cover of Depeche Mode‘s ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’, went down particularly well with the crowd, and saw the band issuing several shout outs and ‘oggy oggy oggy’ chants during the song.

“You guys whip Chelmsford‘s arse,” The Saturdays member Mollie King said at one point during the set.

A well received version of ‘Work’ was followed by the declaration that the next track, ‘Up’, would be the band’s last of the evening, causing some fans who wanted more to boo – though they were still happy enough to sing along with the band during the track.

The Saturdays played:

‘If This Is Love’
‘Keep Her’
‘Just Can’t Get Enough’
‘One Shot’
‘Medley’
‘Issues’
‘Work’
‘Up’
