Midweek chart update: The Script on course for third Number One album

Irish band battling Sam Smith and Barbra Streisand in Official Album Chart

The Script are on course to earn their third Number One album on the Official UK Albums Chart this week with their new record ‘No Sound Without Silence’.

The LP is currently ahead of the current Number One album from Sam Smith as well as Barbra Streisand’s ‘Partners’ at today’s midweek stage (September 17). Chris Brown is new at Number Three with his new album ‘X’. The final chart placings will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 on Sunday (September 21).

Elsewhere in the Official Albums Chart there are nine new entries including Slash (pictured right) with his album ‘World On Fire’ new at Number Five.

Meanwhile, the Number One spot on the Official Singles Chart could go to Sigma and their collaboration with Paloma Faith. The other new entries on this week’s Official Singles Chart at the midweek stage come from Professor Green (2), Hozier (35) and Kid Ink (38).
