The singer will join the panel alongside Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole
Mel B of The Spice Girls will soon be unveiled as the fourth judge in the 11th series of TV talent contest The X Factor, according to reports.
The singer has reportedly signed a £1 million deal to be the last judge to join the all-new panel, alongside Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole. She appeared as a guest judge on the programme in 2012 and has also appeared on both the American and Australian versions of the show.
According to The Sun, her £1 million fee includes a £100,000 wardrobe and expenses allowance.
The judging panel has been re-jigged after last year’s series attracted some of the lowest audiences in the show’s history. Some 11.5 million people tuned in to watch Sam Bailey’s win in December 2013, down from 17.7 million during Cole’s last appearance in 2010.
Back in March, it was announced that Cheryl Cole would return to the ITV show with Simon Cowell after a four-year break. Louis Walsh confirmed that he would be returning earlier this month. Ahead of the announcement Walsh said that he “loved” Mel B, adding “she’s quite mad”.
The first X Factor auditions will start in Manchester on Monday.
