The Spice Girls confirm reunion tour

The girl band line up 12 global dates

The Spice Girls have confirmed plans to reform for a world tour today (June 28).

The all girl five-piece made the announcement at the 02 Arena in London this afternoon.

Introduced by actor Richard E Grant the group said they will kick off their tour in Los Angeles in December and tour around the world.

The band denied any plans to play the Princess Diana memorial concert this weekend due to Emma Bunton‘s pregnancy.

Geri Halliwell described the band getting the band back together like “coming back to a family”.

She added: “I think for us it was about celebrating the past, enjoying each other and it’s about our fans. It was the right time.”

The band also said that they were in talks to record new material and confirmed plans to make a documentary which will show their “gritty side”, in December.

The Spice Girls will play the following cities, with venues to be confirmed:
