Spokesperson says rumoured shows posted on fansite are 'completely untrue'

Rumoured dates for a full UK and Ireland The Stone Roses arena tour in 2012 are completely untrue, a spokesperson for the band has confirmed.

A series of forthcoming shows were posted online on fansite Thestoneroses.co.uk in Ireland, Liverpool, London and Glasgow.

The band, who reformed last week, were listed as performing at Liverpool‘s Echo Arena on July 5 before wrapping up at the Botanic Gardens in Belfast on July 14. They were also rumoured to be playing the iTunes Festival in London on July 16 and two shows at the capital’s O2 Arena.

But a spokeswoman for the band has now confirmed that the dates are fake. She added:

It’s completely untrue except for the Manchester dates, which are obviously accurate – as announced.

The band sold over 220,000 tickets for their trio of comeback shows at Manchester‘s Heaton Park in just over an hour last Friday (October 21). They will play at the outdoor venue from June 29-July 1 in 2012.
