The Stone Roses, JMC, Charlatans for ‘Brit Box’

Star-studded UK compilation due out this fall

A four-CD compilation featuring 78 seminal UK bands including The Smiths, The Stone Roses, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Primal Scream, The Charlatans, Ride, and Cocteau Twins is due to be released Stateside this fall.

‘The Brit Box: U.K. Indie, Shoegaze, and Brit Pop Gems of the Last Millennium’ is due out on October 2 via Rhino and includes recordings from 1985-2000.

Also featuring on the compilation are Happy Mondays, Lush, Suede, My Bloody Valentine, and several other noteworthy bands of the era.

The box will come packaged in a 6″ x 12″ recreation of a traditional English phone booth, and will include an 80-page booklet filled with photos and interviews with producers Stephen Street and Alan Moulder as well as tastemaking DJ Rodney Bingenheimer.
