THAT’S SHOE BUSINESS!

And you can also see Bez' hat in a Mancunian shoe shop...

A NOEL GALLAGHER guitar, BEZ from HAPPY MONDAYS‘ hat and items belonging to THE STONE ROSES and the BUZZCOCKS are among the pieces of rock’n’roll memorabilia set to go on display in Manchester from this afternoon (May 19).

The exhibition, at the Triangle, formerly the Corn Exchange, in the city will run until August. All items are drawn from bands who rose from the punk years through the Madchester scene.

Among the items fans can view are the Buzzcocks‘ smashed guitar from their debut Free Trade Hall gig supporting the Sex Pistols in July 1976, Mani’s John Squire-designed paint-spattered bass from The Stone Roses‘ 1989 NME cover shoot, previously unpublished photographs of Oasis, Noel Gallagher’s Supernova guitar and the ‘Wonderwall’ gold frame, as featured in the video and cover artwork. Material from others such as James and Black Grape is also featured.
