THERE’S THE RUB!

Alan 'Reni' Wren is back in action at last...

Original STONE ROSES drummer ALAN ‘RENI’ WREN has formed a new band called THE RUB, and will play a short UK tour in March, NME.COM can reveal.

Reni was the original Stone Roses drummer and the first member to leave the band following the release of second album ‘The Second Coming’ in 1995.

Since his departure, Reni has remained out of the public eye, but has rumoured to have been working on songs.

These shows will be Reni’s first live appearances since he left the Roses.

The Rub will play: Leeds Rocket (March 18)

Glasgow King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut (19)

Manchester University (20)

Birmingham Little Academy (21)

London Camden Underworld (23)

Tickets for the shows are available now, priced #8, or #9 in London.

For tickets call the NME 24-Hour Ticketline on 0870 1 663 663. Calls are charged at national standard rate

Speaking previously to NME.COM, sources close to Reni have revealed he does not play drums in his new band. Instead, he plays guitar and sings.
