T FOR TWO DAYS

The Strokes kick things off shining through the rain...

The T In The Park festival in Scotland opened its doors this morning (July 7) to finally signal the start of the UK festival season.

Despite torrential overnight rain, the site, at Balado near Kinross, has not yet turned into a mudbath and NME.COM reporters say concertgoers are in good spirits and looking forward to the two days.

Late additions The Strokes kicked things off on the main-stage today telling early-comers that they were the “biggest fucking crowd we ever played to.”

Amongst the acts to come today are Stereophonic, David Gray, Nelly Furtado, Wheatus and Catatonia. Paul Weller, due to play a headlining solo set, on the second stage will be joined by Stereophonics mainman Kelly Jones and Oasis’ Noel Gallagher.

NME.COM will bring you reviews and news as it happens throughout the weekend.
