You just can't get enough of '12:51'...
But, not just any old sorry looking piece of neglected furniture weighed down with lost pennies and toenail clippings. Oh no, this sofa was signed by every band who turned up at the NME signing tent at this year’s Reading festival:
YEAH YEAH YEAHS
HOT HOT HEAT
HELL IS FOR HEROES
You know you want it.
Well, here’s your chance. We’ve spoken to our good friends at Virgin Radio who have setup an auction for us to raise money for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy. So get all your cash and all the cash from everyone you live with and join in with the bidding!
And now down to business. THE STROKES have stormed to the top of the NME CHART, knocking [/a] from number one.
Our unofficial bootleg video for ’12:51’, portraying Julian and the boys knocking about the studio, effortlessly made highest new entry on its first week on rotation.
The [a] single ‘Wasting Time’ is pushed down to number two, with The Darkness holding firm at three with ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’.
The second highest new entry goes to Funeral For A Friend, at six with ‘Bullet Theory’. Elsewhere, [a][/a]score number seven with ‘We’re All In Love’, one place above new Super Furry Animals single ‘Hello Sunshine’.
Meanwhile, Feeder and Muse both re-enter the chart, with ‘Find The Colour’ and ‘Time Is Running Out’ back in at nine and ten respectively.
As ever, the NME Chart has been voted for by you. The rundown is hosted by Zane Lowe and broadcast every day on MTV2 at 7pm. To control next week’s countdown, log on to www.nmechart.com.
