A huge rise in popularity sees the band moved from their Evening Session Stage slot...
THE STROKES have moved from their limited capacity EVENING SESSION arena to the main stage at this weekend’s CARLING WEEKENDER in READING and LEEDS.
The news was announced in a brief statement from organisers Mean Fiddler, which explained the move follows a “huge rise in the bands profile since they were booked to play in February”.
As reported previously in the NME, The Strokes, this week’s cover stars, had been due to play in a tent that could hold no more than 10,000. However, the band are one of the most talked about of the year and many thousand more would have been locked out unable to see the band.
