Guitarist says a follow up to 2013 record 'Comedown Machine' is 'the dream'
The band’s guitarist speaks in this week’s NME, available on newsstands and available digitally from tomorrow (April 2).
The Strokes are confirmed to make their live return at the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York on June 7, but Albert hints that this won’t be the only Strokes activity this year – and that the band will make use of the show as a launchpad for working on new material.
“I imagine there’ll be Strokes activity throughout the year and then hopefully – maybe – an album in the new year,” he says. “That’s the dream. Am I saying that’s what’s happening? No. But I’m saying that’s definitely, probably, in everybody’s minds. We’re definitely not a band that would play these shows just to randomly play them.”
