Singer's official website shows graphic possibly spelling out 'Voidz'
The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has hinted at a new solo project with a mysterious update to his website.
Visitors to Casablancas’ website are greeted by a new graphic, which Consequence Of Sound claim spells out the word ‘Voidz’, possibly the title of a new album of single. The website also offers the opportunity to sign up to the singer’s mailing list for updates.
Casablancas will perform solo at Lollapalooza in Chile and Argentina next year on a bill that was revealed last week (November 4). Other artists on the line-up include Arcade Fire, Nine Inch Nails, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Soundgarden.
Albert Hammond Jr of The Strokes recently denied the New Yorkers are back in the studio following a statement that the band are preparing a “return to the scene” last month. Casablancas’ solo dates would hint at the possibility of a new album from the frontman, a follow up to his 2009 debut ‘Phrazes For The Young’.
Speaking to NME earlier this year, Albert Hammond Jr said that there could be “10 more Strokes albums” in the future. “There might be times when we’re not doing things but I don’t feel like we’ll ever stop,” he said. “We’ve come to the point where we’ve been together so long and been through so much that why announce anything besides what we’re doing? We’re just together.”
Julian Casablancas released his first solo album, ‘Phrazes For The Young’ in 2009.
