THE SUBWAYS GET ENGAGED!

Buy a hat, the rock wedding of the year is on the way…

The Subways’ resident lovebirds announced their engagement onstage in LONDON last night (July 18).

Singer/guitarist Billy Lunn and bassist Mary-Charlotte Cooper revealed their happy news to the crowd at the Camden Barfly.

Before playing the track ‘Somewhere’, Billy said: “I’m gonna dedicate this next song to my fiancé,” as the audience erupted into rapturous applause.

The couple have teased fans about the possibility of engagement, with Billy telling The Sun earlier this year: “She doesn’t love me enough, I keep asking her and she keeps saying no.”

Charlotte replied: “We might do (get engaged), we might not. It’s really important to us, we are definitely going to be together forever, whether we get married or not.”

In other The Subways news, the band are planning to record a cover of The Beatles‘ ‘You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away’ for a forthcoming [a][/a] tribute collection.
