The Temper Trap announce trio of London shows

The Australian band will play three nights at Oslo this July

The Temper Trap have announced a trio of London shows, set to take place in July.

The band will play Hackney’s Oslo on July 21, 22 and 23 before heading Stateside. They will be playing material from their forthcoming third album at the gigs, reports Digital Spy. Speaking about the gigs, frontman Dougy Mandagi commented: “We’re all really excited about the direction the new tracks are taking and we can’t wait to play them live to our fans for the first time. These will be our most intimate shows in a very long time.”

Last year, guitarist Lorenzo Sillitto left the band. Sillitto had played and toured with the Australian rockers since 2006, featuring on both the band’s albums, 2009’s ‘Conditions’ and 2012’s ‘The Temper Trap’ and was also working with the band on their forthcoming third album.

In a statement on the band’s website, Sillitto wrote: “I leave the band with a heavy heart but it was time for me to try new things. I’ve loved everything about The Temper Trap. It’s been an incredible experience. I want to thank the boys for all the amazing times, places we have seen and played and laughs along the way, management, record labels, the many people who’ve supported the band throughout the years, the many friends I’ve made and of course the fans – it has been an amazing journey, an experience I will never forget and one that changed my life.”

The band wrote: “Loz has been a great friend and a valued and important member of The Temper Trap since he joined in 2006. His creativity and commitment to the band over the years has been first class and we wish him all the best with the exciting events that are about to come into his life…while we’re sad to lose a guitarist, we are not losing a friend.”
